Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fiber that can be spun into rough, strong threads. It is obtained from plants of the genus Corchorus, which mainly grow in warm, humid areas, for example in India, Bangladesh and China. Jute is one of the cheapest natural fibers, and the most used after cotton. The fibers of jute are mainly composed of cellulose and lignin. Soft natural fibers are flexible, soft but also very sensitive to wear. Rope made from soft natural fibers is not intended for lifting, so we do not specify a minimum breaking force for this. The thickness of natural materials can also differ during harvest due to quality differences. Braided Jute is a fairly soft and flexible rope.
